5 Ways to Make Exercise Less Boring!


For a lot of people, finding the motivation to work out can be extremely difficult, or even impossible. I think we all know why. Sometimes moving our body just doesn't. sound. fun.


So how do we MAKE it fun and make ourselves more likely to get up and do it?? Here are some of my favorite ways!


  1. Listen to music- A great workout playlist can really help to amp up a workout, take your mind off the task, and give you something to jam along to while you're pumping iron!

  2. Exercise outside- If it's a nice day outside, try moving your equipment outdoors, doing a quick yoga burn in nature, or use your kids' trampoline for a quick and fun outdoor burn!

  3. Make it feel less like working out- Find alternative workouts that don't feel as much like a chore. Try hiking at the nearest lake, do a dance workout, or go for a swim!

  4. Listen to audiobooks or podcasts- The great thing about living in 2022 is having unlimited resources of non-music things to listen to! Books, true crime, self help, fitness podcasts, the list is endless! Adding any of these to your workouts can give you something else to look forward to everyday!

  5. Buddy Up- Sometimes it's fun to change it up and bring along someone you love for your workout. It's not only fun, but it's absolutely extra motivation when someone close to you is committed to exercising with you! Let's be honest, misery DOES love company! (Just kidding... sort of)

At the end of the day, the most important thing is that you get your movement in. It doesn't always have to look the same, and it doesn't HAVE to look like conventional "working out". Change it up, make it fun, and don't put pressure on yourself to have the perfect, textbook workout every single day!
